Behind the stage
Several years ago I was privileged to be invited to view and sketch young ballet dancers competition. I was invited to sit behind the stage, where I spent several hours sketching amazing moments of preparation, anticipation and expectation. The contrastic lights of dark values and brightness of the stage were inspiring and exciting. The transformation of the young dancers when they stepped out from darkness to the light of the stage was amazing.
