My Backyard Fence

Living in the northern Catskills I am overwhelmed with colors every autumn. I am blessed to live at the foot of a mountain that is just glorious in the fall. Even the weeds are brilliant. This vine caught my eye one afternoon. I generally do a black & white thumbnail to get the composition down, then a color study before beginning the final painting. For this one I did a local color underpainting.
