Ragged Point (Big Sur)
Because I was using a multimedia paper, toothy side up, I used an alcohol wash with pastel pigment as a base layer. This is my second large piece so I was focused on enlarging the movement of my arm to loosen my marks. Although I have made many trips to this site, it remains difficult to get any photograph to feel like it feels in person. One of my motivations for learning to paint is to be able to paint this place to see if pastels can do it justice.
