Pelican Rock

This painting was inspired by a cherished moment from a walk with my husband and our dog, captured in an early morning photograph. The tranquil scene of pelicans perched on sunlit rocks has always resonated with me, embodying serenity and quiet connection. I was drawn to the way the morning light illuminated the rugged coastline, casting warm and cool hues across the water and rocks. Working in pastels allows me to explore the rich vibrancy of color and light, and I worked hard to infuse the scene with a sense of life and energy while maintaining its peaceful atmosphere.
