Crows In Madrona

Soft pastel on sanded paper. I was sitting on a log on the beach in Totten Inlet (near Shelton, WA) beneath an old Madrona tree when I created this imaginary landscape. The background mood is a cloudy day on Totten and the foreground is an abstracted pattern of the tree branches in all of the shades of this wonderful wood. I threw in a couple of my favorite birds who happened to be hanging out nearby.
